"This is my teen’s second Herschel backpack. They’re great, and really take a beating. The previous one is still in excellent condition, but the teen wanted a different colour this time, so I inherited the first one, and love it! Unfortunately we didn’t get the free water bottle, but stuff happens."
"I bought this bag in November 2024 and used it happily until a couple of months ago. Instead of a conventional zipper, the main compartment relies on a rope-and-fastener closure system. I chose this bag trusting the brand's quality claims, but the rope came apart after only 1. 5 years of use. Now the fastener gets stuck every time I try to close the bag. Very disappointed with the product's longevity."
"The backpack is beautiful and I really like the overall design, but there are two issues worth mentioning. First, the back zippers don't feel very secure, as someone could potentially open them without you noticing. I've had to lock the two zipper pulls together to prevent anyone from accessing my laptop compartment. Second, the drawstring used to close the backpack wears out surprisingly quickly because of the closing mechanism. I ordered the backpack in December, but due to a shipping delay it only arrived in January, and I didn't actually start using it until the beginning of May when I returned to Germany to pick it up. So after only about two months of use, the cord already looks heavily worn (see attached photo), which is disappointing."

"I had one of these in a different colour, but needed to use the warranty as it had torn at one of the seams. This version seems better constructed, I love the soft pouch for my laptop and the extra pull mechanism on the drawstring! I just returned from a 5 day trip, and I was able to use this for everything, it doesn't even look beat up after being stuffed under a seat on an airplane!"
